Tree_spirits

Tree Spirits. These are just fun creative mud faces / patterns for children to make. Make some sticky mud using earth and water mixed together. Children love getting their hands dirty doing this! You can use clay if you haven't got a good mud supply! You then get a handfull of the sticky mud and stick it to a tree. It can then be moulded into any shape and faces made using leaves, twigs, stones, or more mud. The spirits dry out and cling onto the tree so you can see them next time you go out, or until they wash off in the rain or dry up in the sun and drop off. It is a wonderfully messy activity in which the children learn to use natural things from their surrounding environment .
