Leaf_press
Cut two squares from hard board, 15 by 15cm or larger. Children must be supervised. Sandpaper the rough edges. Print or paint a pattern on one side of each square. Cut 6 pieces of blotting paper to the same size and place them between the boards. Place a rubber band around to hold them together. Collect leaves to press which can be used for collages, cards, and presents later.
Another way to make a leaf press is to use thin slices from ready cut logs that have dried out a bit. These need to be 1-2cm thick, and you can choose any diameter within reason! Children need to be supervised when using a saw. Cut six pieces of blotting paper, using the log slice as a template. Use a rubber band to hold them together.
