Solar Installation and Clear Skies Grant

The Haven Project is using Solar Panels to charge the Thermal Store which in turn provides the primary source of hot water from Spring in to Autumn.

The Thermal Store can also provide hot water to heat the radiators which heat the property. In summer it is unlikely that heat from the radiators will be required. However given that the solar panel will be charging the thermal store from spring in to autumn it is anticipated that the thermal store powered by solar will be heating the radiators before the wood burning stove needs to be used. This report will be updated after the system has been in operation for over a year.

The Haven project is using two solar collectors, which will be installed on the almost due south facing roof. These solar collector panels are xxx by xxx. When installed their top surface is just off the roof and don’t need planning permission but do need a letter of consent from the local authority.
